3:35 pm	In Honor of Earth Day The Amnesty Online Action Center currently has a petition up to send to the Board of Directors of ChevronTexaco. During the company's time in Ecuador from 1972-1992, 19 billion gallons of toxic wastewaters were dumped and 16.8 million gallons of crude oil were spilled in the region. Not only is this an environmental outrage, but it is also a human rights violation. Unclean water and soil threatens the survival of the people who depend on them. The company has yet to adequately clean up their mess, and we're petitioning them to take responsibility. Join us!
